Meet Jess - Our Termite sniffing wonder dog
It may come as a surprise to you, but it turns out that dogs have an incredible nose for termites. In a similar way that dogs are integral to Australian border protection, their ability to sense distinct smells is tens of thousands of times more sensitive than humans.
At the airport, the dogs are tuned to smell drugs and bio hazards. Jess however is trained for termite oudours and is a standout member of the CTS team plus an essential tool for finding termites in addition to the dozen other tools and methods that our technicians use on a daily basis.
In regards to regular termite inspection companies, they use technology and inspection techniques to look inside walls and hard to access areas. These techniques are sometimes invasive and damaging. It's in these select situations where termites are suspected to be inside a wall that Jess' fine-tuned nose is our point of difference and technical advantage.
You won't always see Jess when CTS turns up at your property. As lovable as she is and integral to the team, Jess is used in specific situations when her nose for termites is most valuable. We coach her to stay humble though. :-)
